Charlene has a wealth of experience in Deputyship and Personal Injury Trust work. Over the last three years, having gained background training in Personal Injury Litigation, she has specialised in Deputyships and Trusts for clients with an acquired brain injury due to accident or clinical negligence.
Charlene’s Court of Protection work includes:
- applications to appoint a professional or family Deputy or a transfer of Deputyship.
- applications to sell and purchase property.
- applications to obtain investment and expenditure directions following settlement of the client’s litigation.
- Statutory Will applications
Charlene has regular contact with her clients, helping them deal with the day to day practical and legal aspects of their Deputyship. Her role includes contact with a client's family and the other professionals involved in their care. Her work includes overseeing the purchase and adaptation of property.
Several of Charlene’s clients have foreign assets and/or spend some of their time living outside the UK.
Charlene is particularly experienced in dealing with difficult and sensitive personal matters. She prides herself on being able to communicate in a friendly, open manner and frequently provides solutions through a common sense approach.
