Tom has a background in private client work which qualifies him to advise on a wide range of the legal issues relevant to our Deputyship clients. He specialises in Deputyship work involving individuals who have suffered catastrophic head injuries. Tom has developed strong relationships with his brain injured clients, their families and wider support networks.
Tom has a comprehensive understanding of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and the importance of judging capacity on a decision by decision basis. His clients have varying needs ranging from the management of property abroad to Statutory Wills. Tom has excellent interpersonal skills and is used to dealing with sensitive subjects in a professional yet courteous manner.
Over the past two years, Tom and a team of colleagues have taken part in the national Three Peaks Challenge and the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge raising over £18,000 for a number of charities, including four regional Headway Groups. Tom is currently in training for the London 10km in June 2015.
Tom is an affiliate member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners having successfully completed the Advanced Certificate in Will Preparation in November 2013.
