Care and Care Funding

If you or a loved one has care needs, you may be eligible for support from the state to assist you with the cost of care. Securing funding towards the cost of care can often be a complicated and confusing process.

If you or someone you know has care needs, it’s important to know what support may be available to you and how it can be accessed.

The type of support available will depend on the level of  need.  A large number of factors will be taken into account in assessing those needs including health, mobility and the type of assistance required on a day to day basis. It may also be necessary for a financial assessment to be carried out to calculate whether there are sufficient funds available to cover the cost of care or whether a contribution to the cost can be made.

Should a financial assessment be necessary, it’s important to fully understand the assessment process and whether any savings or income exemptions may be available. Support may cover the full cost of care, part of the cost or nothing at all.

The cost of care is likely to carry a significant financial impact. Hyphen law can provide expert advice on financial entitlement, the care you are entitled to and the options available once your eligibility has been assessed.
