Hyphen Law is a specialist law firm dealing exclusively with the law relating to mental incapacity.
We are here to support and advise you. Living with a mental impairment can bring many challenges for both individuals and their families and the support they need can be complex, time consuming and require many specialist skills.
What makes us different?
Hyphen Law has a particular expertise in supplying high quality services to clients with a mental impairment including a brain injury which has usually been acquired through an accident or medical negligence. We have a wealth of knowledge, experience and resources upon which to draw. We also have perspective and empathy and bring a very human touch to our work.
We're a team of Lawyers with dedicated specialist support staff. We tailor our service to our clients’ needs rather than making our clients fit the box because, in our experience, that doesn’t work. We also ensure that we don’t work in isolation but as part of our clients’ “team”. This often includes Case Managers, Social Workers, medical professionals, wealth managers and litigation solicitors. We understand how team work ensures the best outcome for our clients.
We work hard to build and maintain personal but professional relationships with all parties.
You need to know that whoever you are working with not only understands the legal issues surrounding incapacity, but that they also understand the individual personalities, issues and circumstances involved. Reliable, responsive and collaborative support helps everyone to deliver the best outcomes.
Hyphen Law are extremely pleased to be on the Solicitors panel for Cerebra, the charity for children with brain conditions from 1st November 2019. We have worked with this amazing charity for a number of years fund raising and supporting their invaluable work with Everest base camp climbs, sky-diving and more. Kelly Knight and Laura Curtis have signed up to do the #5KMay 2021 challenge to help Cerebra and Run For Heroes charities!
Our services are delivered nationwide and we have offices in London, Bath, Bristol, Isle of Wight, Plymouth, Salisbury and Swindon. We are happy to visit clients at home or in any other environment where they feel comfortable and at ease. We are innovative in our communication methods and are also happy to use telephone conferencing and Skype where it is appropriate.
Legal 500
Hyphen Law features in the influential 2022 Legal 500 guide to the UK’s top legal firms and lawyers.
“I like the personal approach of the deputies I work with. They really take the time to get to know the clients and the way they live, which makes it much easier to communicate and discuss services and equipment that the client wants to purchase.”
“It takes a positive and inclusive approach to clients’ needs and Hyphen Law is keen to ensure clients’ wellbeing throughout the process.”
“Head of team Christine Bunting is adept at handling deputyships that involved complex and personal arrangements. Kelly Knight is also recommended.”
