I participate in the Inspiring the Future Scheme which connects state schools and colleges with employers and people from the world of work.

In April I went to talk to the pupils of the Crypt School in Gloucester about my life in the law and in conjunction with Lynne Squires the Business Development Officer from the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives. Luke Pollard and Ethan Powell, two of the pupils we spoke to, expressed an interest in learning more and this week they both came to join us to experience a day in the office.  Luke and Ethan spent time with Kelly, Tom, Charlene and Laura learning more about what we do and the different  ways in which they could qualify as Chartered Legal Executives or Solicitors.

Luke was able to share with us what his experience of the day was like and how he heard about what we do at Hyphen Law; "Initially interested in a career in Law, I attended a school talk from Hyphen Law looking to gain as much information on the subject. After an inspiring speech, I proceeded to contact Christine about the possibility of some work experience within the company. A month later and the arrangements were set to spend a day in the office, of which I was nervous and excited. I spent a day in June at the Swindon office which furthered my interest and provided necessary details which confirmed that Law was the correct future career for me. I spent the day talking to various solicitors about their work and experiences of the profession as well as their route through university – something that can only be provided by this type of hands-on experience. I also spent some time doing practical work, gaining an insight into the type of work that solicitors undergo everyday. The valuable experience has certainly confirmed my future aspirations within the Legal environment and something I recommend to all! Many thanks to the team who were friendly and made my visit enjoyable and beneficial" (Luke Pollard- Crypt School student).

Luke and Ethan had a great time and I’m pleased to say that they are still interested in a career in the law!
